Tues 11th June – Parkitechture- how to make sure your development proposal complies with access, parking and manoeuvring requirements, plus a Real Deal by one of our members!

Sophisticated property investors know that the ability to manage time and avoid delays is an essential skill in undertaking a development project.  One aspect of a development that can cause significant delays with council applications is car parking, access and manoeuvring.  This month’s meeting is not to be missed by anyone using or contemplating subdivision/development as a strategy as we are very fortunate to have a highly experienced traffic consultant joining us- Paul Froggatt of GTA Consultants.

The application of Australian Standards and, where relevant, Austroads Guides, to development proposals is covered by a complex series of documents covering all aspects of transport and road design with particular emphasis on access and parking. Paul will cover some of the frequent issues identified in design reviews undertaken by GTA, highlighting the design requirements that are set out in the standards.

Paul is an Associate Director with GTA Consultants based in Adelaide and has over 20 years involvement in transport planning and traffic engineering. Originally from the UK, he has advised both private sector and public sector clients at Local, State/Regional levels in Australia as well as nationally in the UK. His experience in traffic and transport covers:
—    Urban Design and Shared Space Movement Strategies
—    Development assessments and traffic/transport impact assessments
—    Pedestrian and Bicycle Studies and Strategies
—    Traffic Engineering and Local Area Traffic Management
—    Strategic transport and traffic plans and management

In the second half of the session one of our members, Anthony Clarke, will present a deal he is currently working on. Anthony is a full time investor who runs a property development company. He is going to talk about one of his current development projects and explain how he involves money partners in his deals.  He will also share information on how you can also be part of this and become an armchair developer!
